Acceptable Use Policy

Overview

Hermes is a Reddit social selling tool designed to help businesses participate authentically in Reddit communities. This policy defines what "authentic" means and where the lines are. The goal is to protect Reddit communities, protect you from bans, and keep Hermes a trustworthy platform.

Permitted Use

• Monitoring subreddits for genuine buying-intent conversations about your product category
• Using AI-generated drafts as a starting point, with human review and editing before posting
• Posting replies that add genuine value to discussions and disclose your commercial interest where appropriate
• Engaging with Reddit communities in accordance with each subreddit's rules

Prohibited Activities

• Spam — Posting the same or similar reply to multiple threads, posting unsolicited promotional content, or flooding subreddits with replies
• Deception — Posting as a neutral user when you have a commercial interest, creating fake engagement, astroturfing, or impersonating other users or brands
• Community manipulation — Brigading, vote manipulation, coordinated inauthentic behavior, or any activity that violates Reddit's content policy
• Unreviewed automation — Posting AI-generated content without human review or bypassing the review queue
• Competitor attacks — Using Hermes to post negative or false content about competitors
• Harassment — Targeting individual Reddit users with repeated unwanted engagement
• Reddit ToS violations — Any activity prohibited by Reddit's User Agreement, Content Policy, or Data API Terms
• Account misuse — Sharing your Hermes account, using it for competing services, or reselling access

Reddit Compliance

Your Reddit account and API usage must comply with Reddit's Developer Terms and Data API Terms. We are not responsible for Reddit account suspensions resulting from your posting activity. It is your responsibility to:

• Read and follow each subreddit's rules before posting
• Disclose commercial relationships where required by subreddit rules or Reddit policy
• Review every AI draft before posting — you are responsible for what gets posted

Enforcement

Violations may result in account suspension, permanent termination, and no refund of fees paid. We reserve the right to review account activity and remove access when we detect policy violations.
